Doubtful Reverence
I cannot cast you aside, O Light,
In moments of struggle, my heart reveals,
A tempest of questions and shadows at night,
Yet within this turmoil, a longing still feels.
You stand afar, a figure of grace,
A symbol of hope amid life’s harsh plight,
In doubt’s heavy fog, your presence I trace,
A flicker of comfort in the depths of night.
At times, I wrestle with faith’s fragile weight,
Questioning meaning in whispers and sighs,
In the silence, despair weaves an intricate fate,
Yet still, your essence lingers, never denies.
I do not hate you, though confusion may reign,
For in every struggle, a truth comes to light,
Each doubt is a thread in this intricate chain,
Binding my spirit to the cosmos, so bright.
You show me the beauty of vulnerability,
In the cracks of this world, where love seeks to bloom,
Amongst the hardships, I find humility,
Through the lessons of sorrow, I learn to consume.
In the laughter of children, I sense your embrace,
In the kindness of strangers, a glimpse of your grace,
Through joys and through sorrows, I walk on this path,
Finding balance in chaos, both mercy and wrath.
So, I stand in this tension, a seeker of peace,
Holding both questions and answers entwined,
In the heart of existence, may doubt find release,
For your spirit endures, in each moment, undefined.
