I Only Now Understand
I understand my solitude like a familiar song,
A melody woven through the fabric of my days,
In the quiet moments where thoughts drift along,
I find clarity in shadows, wisdom in the haze.
Among the crowd, I wander with an invisible thread,
Entwined in the laughter, yet a distance remains,
Voices blend around me, but I walk instead,
In the spaces between, where my essence retains.
The world spins in colors, vibrant and bright,
Yet my heart holds a palette of deeper hues,
In solitude's embrace, I discover my light,
A canvas of dreams painted with my own views.
I cultivate gardens in the silence of my mind,
Where every flower blooms from the seeds I have sown,
Each thought a reflection, a path I must find,
In the echo of choices, I walk this road alone.
Isolation can be heavy, a weight that pulls me down,
Yet in that pressure, I reshape my own clay,
I carve out my meaning, wear my solitude like a crown,
In the face of the storm, I learn how to sway.
Through introspection’s lens, I touch the divine,
Finding strength in weakness, beauty in despair,
Every trial I encounter, a lesson to refine,
In the depths of my being, I learn to be bare.
While others seek connection, chasing fleeting ties,
I embrace this journey, the one I walk solo,
For in the solitude, I hear my spirit rise,
And in knowing myself, true freedom will flow.
I stand in the stillness, grounding my fears,
An anchor in a tempest, a lighthouse in the night,
In the heart of my solitude, I cherish my tears,
For they water the roots of the dreams I ignite.
